Project Boat Continues Legacy of Logan: An open letter from Mike Kushner of TACO Metals

The TACO Marine Project Boat represents a full transformation of a tired 28-year-old boat into a brand new, custom beauty – showcasing the latest and greatest products from TACO and dozens of other leading marine product manufacturers. Yet this industry-wide collaboration represents so much more than just a great remodeling venture – it also represents hope, caring for others, giving back and continuing the legacy of an amazing young man.

logan kushnerProject Boat began more than two years ago as a bold idea to raise money for charity – specifically, the I’M LOGAN IT Foundation, which provides support to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and scholarships to deserving students.

I’M LOGAN IT was created in memory of Logan Matthew Kushner, who passed away in 2012. Logan left behind a legacy dedicated to education, team sports and helping others.

Logan never knew a stranger. His most important qualities were caring about people and positively impacting the lives of others. His smiles, hugs and enthusiasm for life were genuine. Logan is dearly missed.

As a 59-year-old business founded on family principles, TACO has always strived to develop more than just business agreements with our customers, but rather long-standing relationships and friendships – values Logan emulated throughout his life.

All proceeds from every Project Boat raffle ticket donation are given to the I’M LOGAN IT Foundation – helping kids in need and striving to make a positive impact in the lives of others. The Foundation’s goal is to remind us to always give 150 percent effort in everything we do and to always be there to lend a hand to those in need – just like Logan did.

Please lend your support by making a donation for a chance to win this unique custom boat and by sharing Project Boat with all others you know who may be interested. For additional information please visit go.rallyup.com/projectboat.

Sincerely,

Mike Kushner

(“Donor”).  The winning ticket will be drawn at random on or about Nov. 5, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. EST during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, from all eligible raffle tickets received. In addition, the winner will be notified by phone. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.  Detailed Official Rules follow.

ELIGIBILITY.  The Foundation has the right to request photo identification from any person desiring to enter the Raffle. The Raffle is void where prohibited by law, rule, or regulation. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Employees of the Foundation, the Donor, and members of their immediate family and residents of their household, are not eligible to enter. “Immediate family” includes only an employee’s spouse, parents, grandparents, children, and employee’s siblings living in the same household. A request for and receipt of a Ticket constitutes the entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these rules, terms and conditions, including all entry requirements.

No purchase or contribution is necessary to enter or to win the Raffle. To enter, an eligible entrant must request and receive from a designated representative of the Foundation an official raffle ticket (“Ticket”) for the Raffle.  Each Ticket will bear a unique identification number (“Ticket Number”) and those numbers shall be used to determine the winner of the Raffle. There are suggested minimum cash contributions to the Foundation in connection with the receipt of Tickets (with the total amount of all such contributions made in connection with the receipt of Tickets, as determined by the Foundation, in its sole discretion, being hereinafter referred to as the “Raffle Proceeds”). Tickets may be obtained upon request in-person or by mail, or upon automatic entry with a donation at www.IMLOGANIT.com.  There is a maximum of one (1) Ticket per eligible person if no donation is made by such person.  To request a Ticket by mail, either with or without a donation, submit a written request, which must include first and last name, address, e-mail address and phone number, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to:  The I’M LOGANIT Foundation c/o TACO Metals, Attn:  Project Boat Raffle Fundraiser, 50 N.E. 179th Street, Miami, FL  33162.

DRAWING AND NOTIFICATION OF PRIZE WINNER.  The potential winner of the Raffle will be selected by random drawing from all eligible entries actually received by the Foundation on or before November 4, 2017, with the drawing to be held at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show on November 5, 2017 at 1 p.m. EST. The holder (“Raffle Winner”) of the Ticket bearing the winning number will be contacted within five (5) business days following the drawing to present the winning Ticket to the Foundation within ten (10) business days following the drawing.  Entrants need not be present to win. The winning number for the Raffle shall be posted (“Website Posting”) at www.IMLOGANIT.com on the day immediately following the drawing and shall remain posted throughout the Claims Period (as that term is defined hereinafter) or can be obtained by calling 305-652-8566 during normal business hours. In order to be eligible to claim the Prize, the Raffle Winner must deliver the winning Ticket to a Foundation representative within the time period (the “Claims Period”) that ends at 5:00pm EST on the day that is ten (10) calendar days after the Raffle was held (provided, however, that if such tenth day falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, then the Claims Period shall be extended such that the Raffle Winner shall have until the Monday immediately following such tenth day to deliver the winning Ticket in order to be eligible to claim the Prize).  Any transportation required for the Raffle Winner to make delivery of the winning Ticket shall be the Raffle Winner’s sole responsibility and will not be furnished or paid for by the Foundation.  Upon presentation of the winning Ticket to the Foundation during the Claims Period and verification by the Foundation that it bears the winning number and is the authentic winning Ticket (with the date upon which the winning Ticket is presented to the Foundation being hereinafter referred to as the “Delivery Date”), the Ticket will be retained by the Foundation, the Raffle Winner shall provide his or her photo identification and one other form of identification as noted below, mailing address (“Mailing Address”) and telephone number, and the Foundation shall provide the Raffle Winner with written verification that he or she has won the Raffle. Upon Prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given to the potential winner.  Failure of any potential winner to sign any requested document or failure of any potential winner to comply with any terms in these Official Rules may disqualify the winner in the Foundation’s sole discretion and the potential winner may forfeit the Prize.  If no one presents the winning Ticket to the Foundation prior to the end of the Claims Period in accordance with the procedures set forth above, the Prize will be forfeited and shall be retained by the Foundation. The Prize will not be awarded to any other person in this Raffle.  The Foundation will not be required to attempt to notify or locate the holder of the winning Ticket in any manner other than by making the Website Posting and mailing notice to the address on the winning Ticket. The Foundation also will not be responsible if the holder of the Winning Ticket does not receive the notification, check the Website Posting, call the Foundation Telephone Number, is otherwise unaware that he or she has the right to collect the Prize, or does not present the winning Ticket within the required time as set forth in these Official Rules. A note from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Tampa Bay Chapter

It is because of the generosity of organizations like the I’M LOGAN IT Foundation that JDRF has the ability to make living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) safer and healthier, until there is a cure. The JDRF Tampa Bay Chapter truly appreciates the support of the I’M LOGAN IT Foundation and its annual donations to our organization totaling $65,000 over the past five years. Please know your support impacts the lives of the millions of children, adults and families challenged by T1D every single day.

Every detail of our organization is guided y a simple goal: to lessen the tremendous daily burden of this disease, until it is no longer a threat. That’s why we are busy putting your dollars to work funding research for life-changing advances like glucose-responsive insulin, an artificial pancreas or beta cell replacement therapy, while relentlessly pursuing our vision of creating a world without T1D.

We can assure you that we will stop at nothing until Type One becomes Type None. On behalf of the JDRF Tampa Bay Chapter and millions of people living with T1D, thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Boos
